What’s it like out? A mild morning gives way to a dry, hot day with the high pushing 90-degrees. Beachgoers beware: A tropical depression off the coast of the Carolinas is causing increased surf and a risk of rip currents.

Commuter alert: It’s move-in week across the city. Watch for double-parked U-Hauls to clog busy streets, particularly in young, student-heavy areas. ... Charlestown Ferry service moves from the Constitution Pier 1 to the Flagship Wharf Pier 4 this morning.

What you missed last night: A duck boat drove onto Storrow Drive and struck an overhead bridge, damaging the vehicle’s roof. No passengers were injured. ... A bicyclist struck by a commuter rail train in Somerville has died, MBTA Transit Police said.

OK readers, now let’s get information: Beyoncé was the star of the MTV Video Music Awards last night with a 16-minute performance of several songs from her latest album “Lemonade.” Also at the VMAs, opinion-haver Kanye West held forth on violence in his hometown of Chicago, his mentors, and, of course, himself. “I am Kanye West,” he said. “And that feels really great to say, especially this year.” Fact check: Cannot confirm.

How’d the Sox do? The Red Sox gave up 8 runs in the 6th inning last night and lost 10-4 to the Royals. But hey, Big Papi hit his 31st homer of the year! Tonight the Sox host the cellar-dwelling Tampa Bay Rays at 7:10. Rick Porcello will take the mound looking to add to his league-best 17 wins against Matt Andriese.

On the campaign trail, Hillary Clinton holds a fund-raiser in Pensacola Beach, Fla., with Senator Bill Nelson. Donald Trump has no rallies planned, but his running mate Mike Pence heads to Georgia for several events. This weekend, Trump and his surrogates struggled to explain whether the businessman had softened his harsh immigration policy proposals, such as a “deportation force” to kick out all undocumented immigrants.

Six New England governors and five eastern Canadian premiers are in Boston for an annual conference focusing on energy issues. They’ll hold a press conference this afternoon at 3:30.

Paul LePage drama: The outspoken Maine governor faces growing criticism for his rantings on black drug dealers, his nasty voice mail to a legislator, and for challenging that legislator to a duel. In the Globe, Adrian Walker calls LePage “New England’s George Wallace.”

The US Open starts today as tennis’s biggest stars flock to New York. Top-ranked Novak Djokovic starts off the action against Jerzy Janowicz and will look to defend his title after last year’s championship. On the women’s side, Serena Williams will look at add to her record 12 singles titles by avenging last year’s loss in the Open semifinals. Doubt her at your own risk.

Your tabloid story of the day: Former congressman and explicit texter Anthony Weiner is at it again, according to the New York Post. A series of screenshots and photos show Weiner sexting with a “busty brunette,” as the Post calls her, including one photo with Weiner’s young son next to him. Weiner, you’ll recall, resigned from Congress after lying about an explicit crotch shot, and his comeback bid was derailed by another sexting scandal.

At the box office: Horror flick “Don’t Breathe” took in $26 million over the weekend, knocking “Suicide Squad” off the top of the charts. “Southside with You,” the arthouse film based on Barack and Michelle Obama’s first date, opened to rave reviews and solid response in limited theaters.

Finally -- having workplace issues? Check out this neat guide to dealing with angry co-workers written by an ancient Egyptian named Ptahhotep 4,000 years ago. “If you come across a disputatious man who is your equal, your match, you will make your esteem greater than his by keeping silent.” Thanks for the tip, P.
