Man, 21, killed in motorcycle crash in Worcester

A 21-year-old man died Friday evening after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck near Lincoln Plaza in Worcester, police said.

Officers arrived at the scene near 463 Lincoln St. shortly after 5:30 p.m. and found a man laying on the ground under a pickup truck, Worcester police said.

A Sterling man, 44, was turning into a local business when his truck’s right-font end collided with the motorcyclist, according to a preliminary investigation by Worcester police.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital. He was pronounced dead around 7:58 p.m., police said in a statement.

At the time of the incident, the motorcyclist was travelling northeast and the truck was travelling southwest, police said in a statement. Neither the truck driver nor his passenger, his 16-year-old son, were injured.

Neither the victim, nor the driver of the car, were identified.

Police said they did not issue a citation, and continue to investigate.
