Nashua man sentenced to 10 to 40 years for selling fatal dose of fentanyl

A Nashua man pleaded guilty in Hillsborough County Superior Court - South Wednesday to selling a lethal dose of fentanyl in January, said New Hampshire attorney general Joseph A. Foster.

Kevin Manchester, 27, was sentenced to 10 to 40 years in New Hampshire State Prison for selling fentanyl and causing Michelle MacLeod’s death, Foster’s office said in a statement. He was also sentenced to five addition sentences of at least four years for his sales and possession charges.

He was found guilty of selling fentanyl resulting in death, four later sales of fentanyl, and possession of fentanyl.

In January, Manchester had MacLeod drive him to Massachusetts, where be purchased the drug, Foster’s office said. He then sold a portion to MacLeod, and sold the rest on four other individuals.

MacLeod ingested a portion of the fentanyl that afternoon, and died later that day.

“Fentanyl is a serial killer,” Foster said in the release. “Simply put, Mr. Manchester’s sale of illegal fentanyl was a choice to sell poison to another human being. We will continue pursuing individuals who make selling this poison their business of choice and will hold them accountable.”
