8 to be ordained Catholic priests in Lowell

Eight men are scheduled to be ordained Catholic priests Saturday morning in Lowell during a Mass at the newly restored Immaculate Conception Parish.

“We are blessed to welcome these eight dedicated men to the priesthood and in service to the people of God. We pray that they will be blessed with wisdom, patience, and a joyful spirit as they take their place among the priests of the Archdiocese of Boston, carrying on the ministry established by Jesus Christ,” said Cardinal Sean O’Malley, archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston.

After being ordained, the men will take up assignments in parishes.

One of the eight, Michael Louis Zimmerman, grew up in Needham and attended St. Joseph school. After being ordained, he will go full circle, returning to St. Joseph Parish.
