Officials are investigating a three-alarm fire in Chelsea that displaced approximately 15 people Friday afternoon from a three-family home.
Three firefighters were also injured in the fire at the wood-frame building at 127 Shurtleff Ave. around 4:30 p.m., Chelsea Fire Department Chief Leonard Albanese said.
Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy fire in the area of the front porch on the third floor, and quickly called for a third alarm, he said.
There were no civilian injuries, but the three firefighters suffered non-life threatening injuries, Albanese said.
The fire was extinguished in about two hours.
The Red Cross is providing assistance to residents displaced by the fire.
