Service resumes on Red Line’s Braintree branch

Full service, with residual delays, has resumed on the Red Line’s Braintree branch.

Earlier Monday, shuttle buses were replacing northbound train service between Braintree and JFK/UMass stations.

A disabled piece of work equipment was to blame, the T said.

North Shore commuters, meanwhile, have their own issues.

All commuter rail service on the Newburyport/Rockport line will terminate at Salem for the next four weeks.

The reason: the old swing bridge over the Danvers River is being replaced. Shuttle buses will drop off and pick up at all commuter rail stops.
