Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia held a fundraiser in Boston on Monday for hies reeelection bid next year.

Hours before he was named Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s running mate last year, US Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia was on Beacon Street, telling donors he did not know if he would be the pick.

On Monday, almost a year to the day after he was offered the running-mate spot, Kaine was back at One Beacon Street, albeit with a far lower profile.

The lunchtime fundraiser, collecting cash for Kaine’s reelection bid next year, at the Berkshire Group real estate investment firm asked for contributions between $1,000 and $5,400, according to an invitation obtained by the Globe.
