Greater Boston will likely see mostly clear and sunny skies this week with temperatures peaking daily in the 80s, the National Weather Service said.

Monday is expected to be clear with a high of 81 degrees and light southeastern winds in Boston, before more cloudy conditions and temperatures in the 60s arrive in the evening.

Mostly clear and warm, humid conditions this week could be broken up with patchy fog and a chance of showers Tuesday and Thursday, the service said, brought on by cold fronts arriving those days. Temperatures are expected to stay between the mid 60s and high 80s daily this week.

Weekend weather will likely be partly cloudy and less humid with temperatures still ranging from the mid 60s to high 80s, the service said.

Hazardous conditions could hit Central and Western Massachusetts on Monday afternoon and evening, before subsiding for the rest of the week. Strong to severe thunderstorms accompanied by strong wind gusts are possible Monday, the service said, with the highest risk in Berkshire and western Franklin and Hampshire counties.

More hazardous weather is not expected in the region through Sunday, with “typical summer conditions” continuing this week.
