The T reported the signal problem had been resolved by about 9:15 a.m. and the volume of trains travelling on the subway line was increasing. The T reported “moderate” delays around 9:19 a.m. after passengers faced “severe” delays for more than an hour, according to service alerts.

The cause of the signal failure was under investigation, MBTA spokesman Joseph Pesaturo wrote in an e-mail. The T first reported an issue with the signal around 6:19 a.m.
