Two men on separate motorcycles were shot on Interstate 93 south near Exit 12 in Dorchester late Sunday afternoon, according to State Police.
One of the victims, a 32-year-old East Taunton man, is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries at Boston Medical Center, according to State Police spokesman David Procopio. The other victim, a 54-year-old man, is at Tufts Medical Center; he has serious, but not life-threatening injuries, said Procopio.
The victims are a father and son, Procopio said.
A red Jeep Renegade is sought in connection with the shooting investigation, police said.
The vehicle may have the letter X on its tail light. At the time of the shooting it was occupied by two males, Procopio said.
Procopio said the shootings created “major traffic impact.”
A portion of the highway was shut down after the shootings and MassDOT said traffic was backed up from Dorchester into Somerville after the shooting.J.D.
