Man sentenced to decades in prison after guilty plea in N.H. murder

A man faces decades behind bars after he pleaded guilty Wednesday to fatally shooting a man and wounding a woman in a New Hampshire parking lot last year, officials said.

John Gebo, 31, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for killing 35-year-old Hans R. Odige of Manchester in June 2016, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office said in a statement. Gebo was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.

Gebo also pleaded guilty to first-degree assault for shooting a 25-year-old Manchester woman during the same incident.

The shooting happened in a parking lot in Manchester, authorities said. Officers arrived to find Odige dead and the woman shot in the leg.

An autopsy determined that Odige died from a single gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.
