Bedford police investigating bank robbery

The suspect’s image was caught on surveillance video at the bank.

Bedford police are asking the public for help to identify a man who allegedly robbed a bank Friday afternoon, Police Chief Robert Bongiorno said in a statement.

At 1:38 p.m., police responded to the Bank of America branch on The Great Road for a reported robbery, the statement said.

A man, desribed as white or Hispanic, entered the bank and passed a note to a teller, demanding money, according to Bongiorno.

The suspect, who is believed to be in his late 30s or early 40s, stands about 5 feet 9 inches, and has a stocky build, the statement said.

Both local and federal law enforcement agencies are investigating the incident.

Anyone with information about the suspect or incident is asked to call Bedford police at 781-275-1212.
