Revere man sentenced to prison for 10 bank robberies

A Revere man was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Boston to more than eight years in prison for robbing 10 banks in a 19-day span in December and January, according to the US Attorney’s office.

Fred Mandracchia, 36, was also sentenced to three years of supervised release and ordered to pay $16,695 to the banks he robbed in late December 2016 and early January 2017, prosecutors said in a statement.

Mandracchia was arrested Jan. 7 in Chelsea for robbing a branch of Mechanics Cooperative Bank in Fall River four days earlier. Mandracchia confessed to that robbery and nine others in the Boston area, according to officials.
