Tree worker in Carver injured during blizzard

A tree worker fell 10 to 12 feet from a truck in Carver during Tuesday’s blizzard and suffered a severe head injury, police said.

The worker, 33, who is from Rhode Island, was working near Pleasant and Brooks streets at about 1:40 p.m. when he slipped off the truck, Carver police said in a press release.

He landed on pavement. He suffered severe injuries to his face and head.

He was conscious and taken to South Shore Hospital. His condition was not known Tuesday night.

“This incident highlights the danger that all lineman, tree workers, DPW works and public safety personnel face during these types of storms,” police said in the release.
