Woman found with 15-week-old fetus, police say

Authorities say no criminal charges are being brought against a woman found carrying a fetus in a plastic grocery bag. Sergeant Paul Edwards said police confronted the woman Friday after receiving a call. The woman was carrying the fetus inside a sealed plastic container, which was inside the bag. The state medical examiner’s office, the attorney general’s office, and police determined the 15-week-old fetus had miscarried. Edwards said Wednesday the mother has been identified and the case is considered closed.
