A memorial service for Ken Hudson — a pioneering black referee with the National Basketball Association who also founded the Boston Shootout, which featured the best high school basketball players in the country — will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Twelfth Baptist Church in Roxbury.

Mr. Hudson, 72, died May 9 in Atlanta.
