Jack Reyna, the 13-year-old son of National Soccer Hall of Famer Claudio Reyna, has died of cancer. ‘‘It is with a heavy heart that we confirm that Jack Reyna lost his battle with cancer [Thursday],’’ the family said in a statement released through US Soccer. ‘‘Jack was so courageous during his two-year fight that he’s become a hero and inspiration to many.’’

Claudio Reyna played for the US team in three World Cups. He is now the youth technical director for US Soccer.
