Tom Jaworski, 70; radio announcer, newscaster

GREAT BARRINGTON — Tom Jaworski, known radio listeners as Tom Jay during his more than 40 years as a newscaster, has died.

Mr. Jaworski’s stepdaughter, Jodie McClay, said he suffered a heart attack at his home in Great ­Barrington Thursday and died early Wednesday at a hospital in Springfield. He was 70.

Mr. Jaworksi worked for WSBS-AM in Great Barrington from 1967 until his retirement in 2008.
