Drainage projects gets ink

The town’s efforts to mitigate flooding at Manchester Field have been featured in a trade publication that focuses on municipal water and sewer projects. In its November issue, Municipal Sewer & Water details the project, which required untangling the Manchester Road drainage system. Inadequate 12-inch drainage pipes were replaced with a 30-inch line, and the slope of the road was increased for better drainage. The improved drainage system was connected to new detention chambers at the athletic field, providing 500,000 cubic feet of storage. - Brenda J. Buote
