Boost from state for businesses

State Senator Bruce Tarr last week said the state’s Economic Assistance Coordinating Council has approved Georgetown for designation as an Economic Target Area community under the Economic Development Incentive Program. “Georgetown and its business community have been moving decisively and aggressively to create a stronger business climate and to capture present and emerging economic opportunities,” said Tarr in a prepared statement. “The creation of an Economic Target Area is a next logical step.’’
