A recent Rockport senior housing purchase by a nonprofit developer is the latest example of advocates and communities responding to a new threat to affordable housing: with mortgages expiring on many privately-owned, publicly-financed affordable developments, the owners may opt to instead offer rental housing for market rates, or sell the property to another who will do the same.
