Potential candidates have begun the process of getting their names on the March 27 town election ballot. As of Tuesday, Selectman William Gordon, former selectman Richard A. Nardella, and resident Joe Edward Smith had pulled nomination papers for the two three-year seats available on the Board of Selectmen. Finance Committee member Ramsey A. Bahrawy and Board of Health member Francis P. MacMillan Jr. pulled papers for the town moderator position, which was held for 21 years by Charles Salisbury, who announced last year he would not seek reelection. Stephen C. Long, who was temporarily appointed last June to fill a vacancy on the Housing Authority board, pulled papers to be elected for the remainder of the seat’s term through 2014. As of Tuesday, no one had pulled papers for the two three-year seats available on the School Committee, according to Karen Fitzgibbons, assistant town clerk. Feb. 3 is the last day to obtain nomination papers, and Feb. 7 is the deadline to submit them to the Board of Registrars. - Katheleen Conti
