Nomination papers for this spring’s election are available in the town clerk’s office. Anyone interested in running for a board or commission seat or in serving as a Town Meeting representative may pick up the papers between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. The completed papers must be submitted by 5 p.m. Feb. 27 to the Board of Registrars. Individuals who are filing papers for a townwide office, such as the Board of Selectmen, must secure certifiable signatures from at least 50 registered voters; those running for Town Meeting must collect at least 10 signatures. Due to redistricting, all of the Town Meeting seats will be on the ballot; even incumbents with terms that are not due to expire must run for reelection if they wish to remain in office.
