Permits to burn now available

The town’s open burning season is underway and will continue through May 1. All burning requires a permit issued by the Fire Department. Residents can register and pay for a permit online on the Fire Department link at www.georgetownma.gov. The cost is $12.50 online, $10 in person at the Central Fire Station. Residents may also see if burning is allowed on a certain day and alert the Fire Department on the morning of a burn by opening the “Activate Your Burn Permit’’ link.
