The YWCA Greater Newburyport is accepting applications for the Nancy DiGrezio Memorial Scholarship, which was established in 2007 in memory of the former YWCA board member and advocate for social justice. The scholarship is awarded annually to a high school senior who lives or attends school within the Y’s service area. The recipient must be a leader and peacemaker whose actions exemplify tolerance and understanding of differences, and who, by example, empowers other students to respond to acts of intolerance and discrimination. The winner will be selected this spring by the application screening committee of the YWCA board of directors and community members. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on March 19.
