New tool tracks crime

Local residents will be able to keep closer track of crime in their neighborhoods through a new online mapping tool. The Police Department has arranged with BAIR Analytics to have Everett included on the company’s online crime-mapping website. The software firm offers the service free to any law enforcement agency that wants to participate. The site will analyze and display the city’s crime data, and allow the Police Department to quickly alert the public about crimes in their neighborhoods. There is no cost to the public to access the site. To view Everett’s map, go to www.raidsonline.com and click on Everett, MA in the “Jump to City” finder pane. - John Laidler
