Owner seeks help in saving historic house

The wrecking ball could swing as early as Thursday for the historic Tappan House in Newbury. On Wednesday, the Newbury Planning Board is scheduled to continue discussion of the proposal to redraw the lot line between abutting parcels on 53 High Road and 1 Little’s Lane. The new line would be run through the Tappan House, built circa 1806. Efforts are also underway to preserve historic buildings in Salem and Beverly.
