For a decade, the state’s Community Preservation Act (CPA) has enabled cities and towns north of Boston and across the state to fortify several diverse but key resources: history; open space; outdoor recreation; and affordable housing. Still, in recent years, the once voracious interest in the program has waned (particularly north of Boston) and its future vitality and popularity is uncertain - although efforts are underway to reinvigorate it.
