Apply now for scholarship aid

Applications for scholarships to be awarded by the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield for the 2012-13 academic year are now available. The nonprofit administers scholarships for Wakefield residents meeting income qualifications to help them with their full-time pursuit of education after high school, including two- or four-year colleges, graduate school, and vocational education. Last year, it awarded $439,025 in scholarships. Applications can be downloaded from csfofwakefield.org. They are also available at the Wakefield High School guidance office, at the Beebe Memorial Library’s career room, at the Americal Civic Center, and in the guidance offices of the Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School, and some area private and parochial schools. The deadline to apply is March 31. For more information, contact foundation administrator Roberta DiNitto at 781-245-4890 or by e-mail at csfofwakefield@earthlink.net. - John Laidler
