Invasive plant poses threat to the Great Marsh

A new study confirms the anecdotal belief that the northern portion of the Great Marsh is vulnerable to further spread of the invasive species Phragmites Australis (common reed), and that the right amount of tidal flow is the secret to maintaining a healthy salt marsh. More good news: The report finds temporary treatments to be effective, and recommended until a permanent solution can be put in place.
