Restaurants apply for Wayside spots

At its meeting tonight, the Planning Board will hold public hearings into special permit applications for three proposed restaurants at Wayside Commons, a shopping center at Wayside Road and Cambridge Street. Seasons 52 seeks to move into the space that housed a Borders bookstore. Bonefish Grill seeks to open in the space occupied by the Ginger Pad restaurant. Pot Belly Sandwich Works seeks to operate in part of the space being used by Fresh City restaurant, according to Anthony Fields, the town’s planning director. Another public hearing will be held on an application by the Wilder Cos., which owns Wayside Commons, to modify its site plan to expand the retail complex’s parking capacity, Fields said. Also tonight, the board will resume a public hearing into the special permit application by Nordblom for its proposed retail and restaurant center along the Third Avenue section of Northwest Park, off Middlesex Turnpike. The board has already approved a permit for a Wegmans supermarket as part of the development. The board will separately consider a special permit for a Kings restaurant and bowling alley. - John Laidler
