Youth center board formed

Selectmen approved seven appointments to the newly formed Youth Center Building Committee at their Monday meeting. The new members are Chris C. Huntress, who chairs the I-93 Interchange Task Force; Nancy K. Jeton, special assistant to the head of school at Phillips Academy; Willard D. Perkins, a local real estate agent; Lewis C. Trumbore, a member of the Board of Assessors; David Giangrande, a resident and civil engineer; David J. Gorman, a North Andover-based attorney; and Joe Spanos, a retired Andover High School teacher. In a December Special Town Meeting, voters approved the use of $2 million in town funds for the construction of a proposed $4.2 million youth center. The committee, formed by Town Manager Reginald S. Stapczynski, will lead the construction process. - Katheleen Conti
