Aldermen say no to land purchase

The Board of Aldermen has elected not to buy Parcel F, paving the way for the construction of an 85-unit senior housing development off Concord Street. Concord Street Corp. bought the site for $2.2 million from Pennichuck Corp. water company, two days before the city purchased Pennichuck in part to halt development of properties near the watershed. The developer then offered the undeveloped 33-acre Parcel F to the city for $4.85 million.
