Samuel Johnson returns from Afghanistan to play lacrosse at Clark

In retrospect, it figures that Swampscott’s Samuel Johnson prefers to play defense on the lacrosse pitch. After all, he spent the better part of last year overseas, in Afghanistan, defending his country as a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. This spring, however, the 23-year-old is trading in his M-4 assault rifle for a 6-foot Warrior lacrosse stick as a non-traditional sophomore for the Clark University Cougars in Worcester.
