Second try for Dunkin’ Donuts

The City Council Tuesday will hold a public hearing on a proposal to locate a Dunkin’ Donuts in a strip mall at 79 Lynnfield St. Linear Retail Property 1 LLC is seeking a special permit to house the store in vacant space at the mall, according to city clerk Timothy Spanos. The council last July rejected a previous application by Linear Retail, the mall owner, to locate a Dunkin’ Donuts in the space. Spanos said that applicants denied special permits normally must wait two years to reapply. But he said state law allows an applicant to return sooner if the Planning Board approves filing of a new application. Also at Tuesday’s meeting, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, the council will hold a hearing on a request by Fox Run Limousine for a change in address on its license. The company seeks to relocate from its current site at 134 Newbury St. (Route 1 south) to 484 Lowell St.
