US grant to pay for ladder truck

The town recently received a $717,000 federal grant toward the purchase of a new ladder truck. Firefighter Austin Antrim wrote the grant application, along with Chief Edward Hyde. The town will contribute $60,000 to the purchase and outfitting of the truck, which will replace a 1978 model. “It’s a tremendous opportunity for the town,” said Andrew Bisignani, town administrator. “That’s a very dramatic savings.”
