Park needs an upgrade

Bright ideas are needed to renovate Miller Park, a blighted spot at the corner of Harvard and Sammett streets. Next Sunday, residents are invited to attend a community art workshop led by Abigail Klima, an architect working on the park renovation. People will be asked to suggest and share ideas for a new vision for the park, which is now a barren space surrounded by a chain-link fence. The workshop will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of Salemwood School on Salem Street. To help develop the park, the Malden Redevelopment Authority has received a $44,650 grant from the TKF Foundation, a private, nonprofit organization that funds projects to create green space in urban areas. -Kathy McCabe
