Town offering rain barrels

The town is making rain barrels available to residents. The 60-gallon barrels, made from recycled plastic, save rainwater for later use in gardens and for indoor house plants. The barrels come in a variety of colors and feature a brass spigot and removable intake screen to keep debris and mosquitoes out. The barrels are designed to direct overflow water away from a home’s foundation, and may be connected to a drip irrigation, soaker, or garden hose. The cost of a SkyJuice rain barrel is $75. Orders will be accepted until April 25, and the barrels will be available for pickup from 4 to 7 p.m. May 1 behind the town offices at 50 Billerica Road.
