New menu offered at charter school

The Amesbury Academy Charter Public School held a dinner for students and their families March 7 to introduce its spring offerings in the Lights on After School program, as well as the school’s new physical fitness initiatives. Funded by a $25,000 state grant, the after-school program includes tutoring, gaming, Brazilian jujitsu, yoga, zumba, and creative writing. The Carol M. White Physical Fitness Grant awarded to the academy last year is focused on nutrition. Staff members treated guests to homemade, low-fat, healthier versions of popular menu items.
