Health drive kicks into gear

A new committee that promotes wellness in the city is kicking into gear. The Be Well Woburn committee was created by Mayor Scott D. Galvin last year to encourage residents to make healthy lifestyle choices, such as exercising and eating nutritious foods. On May 20, the committee will hold a youth triathlon. The competition begins with swimming at the Boys & Girls Club of Woburn’s pool. Contestants will then ride bikes from the club to Spence Farm, then run back to the club, with distances in each event based on age. Committee members are Rory Lindstrom, Meghan Doherty, Karen DiCampo, Lori Duran, Meghan Patrissi, Marcia Skeffington, and Gary Reese, assistant school superintendent. - John Laidler
