Mayor Carlo DeMaria Jr. and other friends of Ronnie Cannon are holding a fund-raiser Thursday for the longtime Everett resident, who is recuperating from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The event will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. at Anthony’s of Malden. Cannon was seriously injured in November when his car was rear-ended by another vehicle. He was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he remained until February. He recently returned home after a stay in a rehabilitation center. Friends and family members organized the fund-raiser to help Cannon and his family meet their daily expenses. Tickets are $25, and can be obtained by calling Ron Savage at 617-294-2900. - John Laidler
