St. John’s Prep ready for new season
New state rules that limit the impact of batted balls will give edge to pitchers
As St. John’s Prep’s Dustin Hunt stared down catcher Jake Barosin, the two-two count loomed in the distant scoreboard on Wednesday afternoon. Two outs away from fourth inning relief, the 6-foot-3 Hunt shook off two signs and went with a 12-6 hanging curve, to leave Central’s Patrick Gleason staring at strike three, shaking his head in disbelief. But Hunt is just getting his first taste of winning with the Eagles, after spending two years at Andover High School.
