‘Unsung Heroes’ in schools

The Saugus Business Education Collaborative recently honored nine local public school students as Unsung Heroes. The students, representing each of the town’s schools, were recognized for their academic efforts and contributions to their school communities. The presentations came at the collaborative’s annual award ceremony held at the Prince Pizzeria restaurant. The recipients were Madelyn Claffey, representing the Oaklandvale School; Alexis Gallotto (Lynnhurst School); Kyle Cocorochio (Waybright School); Gabriella Moreschi and Jack Blake (both from Veterans Memorial School); Diana Reach and Kurt Martin (both from Belmonte Middle School); and Saugus High School students Anthony Guthro and Melissa McCarthy. The collaborative raises money from local businesses and at fund-raising events to support the public schools. - John Laidler
