Property taxes due May 1

  April 15, 2012

The town treasurer/tax collector is reminding residents that fourth quarter real estate taxes and personal property taxes for fiscal year 2012, which ends June 30, are due on May 1. Payments may be mailed to the Office of the Tax Collector, PO Box 80068, Stoneham, MA 02180 or made online at www.stoneham-ma.gov. For those who fail to pay, 16 percent interest will be due on the unpaid balance. In addition, the collector will be required to issue a final demand bill, which will result in a $15 charge to the taxpayer. For more information, call 781-279-2660. - Brenda J. Buote
