Verdun leaves JCC post

Robert Verdun has resigned as executive director of the Jewish Community Center of the North Shore after having the job for eight months. According to JCC spokeswoman Leigh Blander, Verdun left for personal reasons. Blander lauded Verdun’s job performance, and said he helped implement the regional facility’s new business plan and led the organization through its 100th anniversary. Blander also said the JCC, which had run a deficit in recent years, is seeing an increase in new membership and this year’s revenues are expected to be 24 percent higher than 2010. Blander said a search committee had been formed to find a permanent or interim executive director.
