Survey to guide recreation planning

Local officials are urging residents to complete a survey that will help them identify what the town’s goals should be to improve the town’s open space and recreation areas over the next five to 10 years, from protecting undeveloped areas to providing a range of recreational opportunities. The open space and recreation plan helps the town remain eligible for state funding for preservation and improvement projects. The survey closes April 30. It may be accessed online at, while paper copies of the 15-question survey are available at the town’s Parks and Recreation Department and the Community Planning Department. The surveys will be tabulated by the town’s consultant, Brown Walker Planners Inc., and results will be posted on the town website in May. Individual responses will be confidential. - Brenda J.
