Selectman Alex Vispoli is scheduled to formally kick off his campaign for state Senate Tuesday at an event he is hosting from 6 to 8 p.m. at Andolini’s Italian Restaurant, 19 Essex St. Vispoli, 54, will be seeking the Republican nomination for the 2d Essex and Middlesex District seat currently occupied by state Senator Barry R. Finegold, an Andover Democrat, who is seeking reelection in November. Freshman Republican state Representative Paul Adams, also of Andover, is also looking to challenge Finegold in November. Vispoli, a father of four, has served on the Board of Selectmen for eight years, and is a vice president of sales at a Malden computer company. He said he hopes to use his 25 years of business experience to help the state create a more business-friendly climate and new jobs. The event is open to the public.
