Paying firefighter’s medical bills

A citizens’ petition article to pay $2,702 in outstanding medical bills for call firefighter Lieutenant Keith Gauvreau, who suffered a heart attack while battling a fire in 2010, is among the 24 articles on the warrant for the annual Town Meeting Monday. Residents also will vote to approve the town’s $41.8 million operating budget for fiscal year 2013, and a capital budget of $513,954, which includes $250,000 for school technology and $67,000 for a new Highway Department truck. There is also an article seeking $100,000 for engineering services, preliminary design, and planning for a new field complex on land owned by the Lynnfield Center Water District. The town needs 175 residents for a quorum for the meeting, which is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the middle school.
