Residents asked to conserve water

This year’s low precipitation is prompting the Water Department to ask town residents and business owners to conserve water. Officials are concerned that the lack of significant precipitation could trigger a serious water emergency in the coming months. In an effort to address water supply issues, the town is working on a drought management plan that tailors water use restrictions to the state of the town’s water supply. Restrictions will strive to maintain sufficient water in the storage tanks to provide for fire protection during maximum demand by eliminating nonessential water use. Residents are urged to curb water use for irrigation and landscape maintenance.
