Lane named superintendent

Alvirne High School Principal Bryan Lane has been selected to become the town‘s new school superintendent. Lane has been the principal of Alvirne, a high school in Hudson with an agricultural program and vocational school, for 14 years. He previously was assistant principal at Oyster River High School in Durham and Salem (N.H.) High School. He will replace Hudson superintendent Randy Bell, who is retiring. Lane will be assisted by Phyllis Schlichter, the director of special services in the Oyster River Regional School District, who has been hired to become assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in Hudson. - Tom Long
